I think this is a really interesting way to get us to look inside outselves and dissect our personality. For our generation as a whole, music is very important. This assignment is a awy for us to take an aspect of our lives and relate it to ourselves. I can see where picking a song might be stressful, but after choosing a song, it should make the writing process more interesting. I enjoy having a creative project that is so unlike anything I have ever written.
I like this assignment for our first english assignment in college because we can express ourselves, and it helps us warm up to writing at a college level.
I thinks it's cool how you guys find the assignment both fun and challenging, I'm glad you find it creative, expressive, and a good warm-up. I would probably find this stressful too, because I love so many types of music and so many songs are my favorite. But is the process helping you look more deeply at who you are? ANd how about the open-endedness of the structure? Are you guys finding ways to put all your ideas into a coherent structure?
I love music. So for me, this assignment is fun, but as a matter of looking deeper into who I am I feel that a song written by someone else is not sufficient. I have picked a song. I have connected and reflected about myself in some manners, but I am caught in the reflection aspect. Most songs have certain themes and I feel that in just picking one, I only represent one part of myself. In saying that, I do enjoy writing this because it is providing some insight. It is fun to write about relations to music.

I like this assignment but I am not sure that I can write 1000 words about myself. I am not a fan of talking about myself. I agree with others how it is neat to find a song that describes you but like I said it is hard for me to write about myself and who I am as a person.
the assignment was not bad but it was tough to pick a song, and then write a whole 1000 words on it. ususally that is not that much, but i felt like i wrote what i wanted to say in about 600 words.
I really liked the idea of writing a paper about a song that describes me. The problem I was having was finding just one song that describes me. There are parts of many songs that describe me so to just pick one was tough. Also, trying to write about this topic for 1000 words was really hard.
It was difficult to choose just one song to describe myself. I went through several songs, but after going through the writing process, I feel I chose the right one.
